This is a short film made for France TV, in the context of the second season of Première Page.
The purpose of this collection is to give young directors a platform. They are commissioned a 2min short film which will feature, as a voice over, a fragment of francophone litterature. My film is based on the first page of L'oiseau bleu, a tale by Madame d'Aulnoy. She was a fairy tale writter from the 17th century, considered to have coined the literary genre's name.
The process
The animation was made with stopmotion using a multiplane. The characters were made using fabric for the clothes and paper for faces and hands that were then replaced.
